The world is witnessing the most significant escalation in violent attacks and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces and settlers, since June 2014. The current escalation in Gaza, East Jerusalem and across the West Bank has resulted in multiple Palestinian deaths and injuries, as well as property damage, large number of arrests and restrictions on Palestinian freedom of movement.
As a consequence, Palestinian civilians face extrajudicial executions resulting from the use of live ammunition by Israeli security forces, besides being victims of daily harassment, systematic control and settler attacks.
This raises serious concerns of Israel's excessive use of force and violations of the right to life and security of the person.
In this perspective - as an Occupying Power - Israel violates international humanitarian law and human rights by not guaranteeing the safety and protection of Palestinians and by failing to prosecute crimes.

There is a need to protect Palestinians from being harassed, to raise awareness and urge the international community to take action regarding the Israeli violations of international humanitarian law and human rights, which is why I am here.
